Christian Bale gives such an amazing performance in Empire of the Sun (1987) at such a young age.

Just watched Spielberg's Empire of the Sun for the first time, such an amazing and emotional movie. Happened upon this movie when Robert Meyer Burnett said it was his favorite Christian Bale performance. I love Christian Bale so I had to see this movie and it did not disappoint at all. I still regard American Psycho as his best performance but this is right up there as one of his finest.
