What are your favorite movie to credits transitions?
This is a weird question, i’ve always felt that the transition between the last scene of a movie and the credits is very special. It has the responsibility of bringing you back to the real world, and if done right, it can make that film a little more memorable.
My prime example is The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (spoilers). In that film’s context, the fellowship has just been broken, and Frodo is heading towards Mordor with Sam. This bittersweet ending is accompanied by the Shire Theme being played by a flute. But just as the screen fades to black and “Directed by Peter Jackson” comes up on screen, the score suddenly stops and a choir of children starts humming the same theme. It gives off the melancholic vibe of the ending, but also an almost nostalgic feeling, like you just left Middle-Earth and it’s now only in your memories.
Do you guys have some other examples?
