Wall-E: Buy N Large built some great products

We all know Wall-E as a commentary on mass consumerism, pollution, and machines taking over our lives. That said, the evil Buy N Large corporation that ruined the Earth and dumped their space garbage did do at least one thing right.

They made some of the most durable products ever.

Wall-E himself was still working after 700 years. While we do see other broken down Wall-E units, they are not degraded to the point where their parts are useless for our hero.

The Axiom is a ship that kept hundreds (or thousands?) of people thriving for generations. Think about that. Not only were their needs met (undoubtedly too much), the mechanics of the ship were in perfect working order after 700 years in space. That would be like naval vessels from the 1300 and 1400s still sailing the oceans.

Not only does the Axiom continue to function perfectly, they are evolving their tech. EVE is far more complex an AI than Wall-E, meaning the machines on the Axiom are continuing to build more and more impressive tech.

So, while Buy N Large was unable to solve pollution of the Earth, they were experts at making machines that last.
