Airplane! (1980) was incredibly ahead of it’s time

Just rewatched this one last night with my wife for quarantine date night. It was her first time watching it. Holy hell, this 40 year old movie holds up so well. The rhythm, the editing, the acting and writing are so well done — there’s at least a couple belly laugh moments in every scene. It’d been years since last I saw it, but it honestly can go head to head with any contemporary comedy which i think is a massive testament to the quality of the film considering it’s age.
