Hollywood needs to stop casting women with skinny supermodel like physiques in "kick ass and take names" leading action roles and start casting physically fit women.

Women can be strong and physically imposing. One of the things I loved the most about The Mandalorian was how bad ass Gina Carano's character looked. She's a former UFC fighter so I'm not expecting every female action star to have her build but at least pick up a dumbell heavier than 20 pounds before you star as a trained assassin or just someone who gets in a fight on a regular basis.

I can't sit through a Angelina Jolie Action-Thriller movie because I'm sorry bu to me it's not believable in any way shape or form that she would win a physical confrontation with anyone given her physique. She's barely more than 100 pounds in these movies and she is beating up guys twice her weight. I always give movies a generous believability wiggle room, because hey it's a movie... meant to entertain not be a 100% reflection on reality. But this is too far from reality for me.

Hollywood casts athletic looking men in Action-Thriller starring roles but somehow they don't do the same with women. You would never see a male actor with a physical build of Adrien Brody star in action movies, audiences wouldn't buy it. But for some reason they do with female unathletic leads. I guess this might be because the normal beauty standard for a man is being bulky but for a woman it's slim.

Male actors bulk up big time to be believable for physically demanding roles but women in similar roles most often have that slim model build like Angelina Jolie (Wanted), Gal Gadot (Wonderwoman), Charlize Theron (Atomic Blonde), Kristen Stewart (Charlize Angels), Alicia Vikander (Tomb Raider), Kate Beckinsale (Underworld) etc etc etc

To me this is, if anything condescending towards women and not in any way "empowering". By casting stick figures to do these roles Hollywood is sending the message that women shouldn't be muscular or look physically imposing. Women can have muscles and it's ok for them to have muscles.

I'd like to see less castings like Angelina Jolie in "Wanted"

And more castings like Jessica Biel in "Blade: Trinity"
