Alex Kurtzman helped ruined Star Trek, Spiderman, The Mummy, Zoro, Enders Game and Transformers. Why does he continue to get access to big titles?

Alex Kurtzman has ruined a lot of classic media. He was given the reigns of "The Dark Universe", butchering "The Mummy" into an action schlock pile of trash, one of the biggest bombs in box office history losing 95$ million. Now, he is working on his next project.. "The Bride of Frankenstein"

I just don't get it. Why does this guy keep getting the reigns for such great and classic titles?
