Which film sequels are the most different from the original?

Looking for films where the sequels either tonally, narratively, visually (or all-of-the-above) feel vastly different from their predecessor, for better or worse.

I'm especially interested in film series that didn't last past a couple installments but produced two vastly different entries.

The Evil Dead and Gremlins series come to mind, but also curious to hear some lesser-known examples as well as which had the wildest shifts in style/tone between films.
