I’m watching Jaws (1975) for the first time (I think) and dreading this year’s July 4th pandemic.

I didn’t realize the movie took place July 4th.

Decided to randomly watch it before I go to bed.

It’s July 4th 2:46 AM right now, and even though there’s no shark attacks, I’m dreading the results from the mass gatherings that will probably be taking place in a few hours.

One moral of Jaws is that you shouldn’t risk people’s lives for the sake of making money and letting people have fun, and I fear Americans are about to do that in a few hours, like many have been every day.

Happy July 4th and may we work together to stop this pandemic by keeping a safe distance from others while celebrating.

Also, I’m less than an hour into the movie and it’s pretty entertaining. I can see why it’s iconic and made so many people (overly) afraid of sharks.
