The moment that is the heart of Back to the Future

The scene where Marty tries to yell above the storm to Doc, “I have to tell you about the future” carries so much weight and I’ve never been able to figure out why. It’s a moment that stirs some kind of bittersweet emotion. Not only is he trying to prevent Doc from dying, but it feels like the heart of the movie: life is both painful and sweet and it’s exactly because we don’t know what’s going to happen next.
