The most unbelievable part of Forrest Gump is that he wasn't a celebrity by the end of the story.

He was a football star, went to Nam and won a Medal of Honor, Spoke in front of the Lincoln Memorial, was sent by Nixon to China to play Ping Pong, met three Presidents (And humiliated himself twice in the process), owned a corporation, and ran across the country without stopping for three years straight.

And yet people still don't know his name when they hear it? Bullshit. He would be known...as the Most Interesting Man in the World.
