That got us talking about comedy movies. What happened to the market for comedy?

I remember the days of Ace Ventura, Scary Movie, Waiting, Clerks, Harold and Kumar. What ever became of the dumb comedy era that existed only to make the punters laugh and feel happy?

Anyone know what the last successful comedy was that made money?
