What movie made you like/respect an actor that you previously didn’t?

For me it was Ryan Gosling in First Man. Before watching, I always thought of him as The Notebook guy and never really acknowledged his talent. However, his performance as Neil Armstrong in First Man knocked me on my ass. I subsequently watched Blade Runner 2049 and La La Land and now I want to give him a french kiss for his looks and his acting ability, not just the former.
