Why are new movies so dark(literally)?

Terminator dark fate, black panther(some scenes), cabin in the woods, game of thrones(I know it's not a movie), even the new Batman trailer is so fucking dark in the night scenes I can't seem to figure out the fuck is going on. Is there are a technical reason for this? 1917 had a flawless night sequence but why do other movies have such a pathetic lighting?
