Burning (South Korea, 2018) has to be one of the best movies of recent years
What a haunting movie. It's pretty slow but there are so many tension filled scenes where you're waiting for things to finally explode. And then THAT ending. It's definitely one of those movies that lingers with you afterwards.
The three leads are all amazing. I only knew Steven Yeun from The Walking Dead years ago but wasn't aware of the others. You're never quite sure who you can trust. When Ben first arrives is he just a rich, harmless guy or is there something more sinister there? Is Jong-su just paranoid? Is Hae-mi playing them both?
I feel like it's one of those movies that'll be even better on a second viewing to try and make more sense of all the "mysteries" that abound. I'd love to see more movies like this.
