I think i've decided my most hated movie Trope : Need to draw blood, lets slice our palms open

The worlds and settings where blood needs to be drawn in this fashion , usually also involve sword fighting.

So drawing blood this way looks cool i guess, but lets try not to handicap ourselves by making an infected tender wound on our sword/shield hands before the big battle. just what we need blood slippery grip while trying to wield a bastard of a bastard sword

Like, do it somewhere that wont be a such a hinderance... like butt cheek... or i heard that scalps bleed a lot, so if you need a lot of blood but not something that will hold you back too much in a fight, split your scalp in the back of your head... or i dunno cut yourself shaving, that usually gets me lots of blood. anyway, i hurt my finger yesterday and now doing normal things is difficult.
