Just Rewatched 1917 Yesterday (Armistice Day!)
I’m not usually one for analytical deep dives into a movie, but after seeing 1917 for the first time since in theaters, I was yet again blown away and cannot underscore how well it immerses you into that era, that war, and the sentiment/indifference by the soldiers who endured over 3 years of conflict to that point. I’m not talking about the single shot style, either. The movie itself just hits all the good notes with precise execution.
It’s not without flaws of course, but as a self-declared war movie fanatic I think 1917 sits somewhere in my Top 10 all time.
Journey’s End is also excellent, for that matter.
