Can we just talk about how AMAZING the first part of Desperado (1995) is?

I'm not at all implying that the rest of the movie wasn't good but the first 30-45 minutes was where the movie really shined.

The starting conversation between Steve Buscemi's character and the bartender is striking, suspenseful and entertaining. Then the movie strides gracefully into its opening credits where we are greeted by an amazing song sung by El Mariachi (Antonio Banderas) himself. It's stylish and ridiculously entertaining plus the song is great too.

And then the infamous shootout scene where not only spectate Antonio Banderas' character massacre a whole bar in pure 1990's style. ABSOLUTELY SUPERB AND AWESOME. We also get to see Quentin Tarantino get shot in the head which in nice I guess.

It's an extremely watchable film which caught me by surprise. Go watch the film...NOW!
