Dredd is absolutely amazing at something I only think about when it's bad: sound mixing

Apart from the incredible slo-mo scenes and sound design in general, what really struck me on my last watch was how the volume levels are pretty consistent whether it's Dredd whispering or mini-gun fire going off. I was watching late at night, and didn't have to turn it down when the explosions were going off, didn't have to turn it up to hear the quiet moments...and it never woke the dog! I wish all movies were as precise with the sound levels as this cult masterpiece.
