What is a bad performance in an otherwise good movie?

I'm going with Cameron Diaz for Gangs of New York. Tbh I don't think there were any good performances outside of Daniel Day-Lewis but I think Diaz stands out as the most atrocious and miscast. The accent of her's is quite distracting and almost ruins an otherwise good film. There was also a fundamental disconnect between Diaz and the character she was playing.
