Annihilation (2018) appreciation post

I will never understand how this film failed at the box-office. Annihilation is a great sci-fi/horror film on par with Under The Skin. It's scary & smart and its 3rd act has some of the most striking visuals and sounds you're likely to find in modern movies. How this thing didn't take off is beyond me. Please tell me I'm not alone in loving this strange & wonderful thing.
