Kung Fu Hustle stands the test of time. The storyline, cinematography, and comedy all stand up today. I'm beyond excited for its second chapter.

Bill Murray said Kung Fu Hustle is "the supreme achievement of the modern age in terms of comedy." And the reason? It's heartfelt, idiosyncratic, spiritual, fantastically physical cinematically, moving, filled with amazing stunts and slapstick, it contains honor and redemption and forgiveness, it's silly and ridiculous, ingenious, genre-and-era spanning, full of musical stagings and choreography; it's dynamic, fabulously crafted, heroic, lowbrow, self-aware when it's highfalutin, filled-with childlike wonder and playfulness, and starring a fearless writer, actor, director, stunt-man who doesn't mind trying anything his massive imagination might whip up. And that's just the start of why.
