What happened to comedies like Weekend at Bernie's or Dumb and Dumber?

Rare these days. I remember Horrible Bosses and Game Night being ok but there hasn't been a god tier comedy in years.

I have to add, Weekend at Bernie's might be the most well crafted comedy ever. From the way the characters are introduced, to the pacing, to the jokes, it's just a perfect 80 minute riot.
