Aliens is good but Hudson makes it truly a Great!
Just watched the movie and I can't ever remember there being a character as entertaining as Hudson. The knife trick at the start instantly made him the one to root for.
Every line he has is basically a quote! More impressive, I had no idea the "Game over, man! Game over!" line was ad-libbed by Paxton.
He is the voice of reason in every situation and easily the highlight of an already amazing cast. Not simply there for comedic relief, the character has many layers. From being bold and brash to quickly suffering the breakdowns when the heat is on - to ultimately becoming the badass he portrays himself to be. This arc and the fact that he was the one to compare the xenomorphs to ant colonies makes him so much more than the typical stereotype.
The way he describes the USCM's weapons, every time (and way) he F-Bombs, and always one to get the last word in - it's just perfectly delivered by Paxton. His interactions (confrontations!) with Apone and Vasquez being highlights.
Bill Paxton's Hudson is simply a Legend. End of.
