Inglorious Basterds really was robbed of best picture and best screenplay at the Oscars

Looking back, Inglorious Basterds really was robbed of a lot of awards. The Hurt Locker took a lot best Screenplay, Best Director and Best Picture and I think in hindsight these should have been awarded to IB.

The Hurt Locker hasn’t had a lasting legacy, it is very rarely talked about these days whilst Inglorious is still hyped up and discussed and analysed to this day and the performances within are still lauded as some of the best (looking at you Christoph Waltz).

I really do think that Inglorious Basterds deserved more recognition at the time for what a masterpiece it is. It is a film that in 50 years time will still be watched, talked about and taught in film schools.
