The ethics of Sicario

I just finished watching Villenueve’s Sicario for the first time. I have to ask, how do you feel about the concept of what is happening?

Should we collectively be ok with what happens in the dark tunnels on the border to “manage the war on drugs” or “keep the masses safe?”

Similar to the Nicholson/Cruise scene in A Few Good Men. Easy to see the villainy in obviously immoral actions in a vacuum but does it change in the grand scheme of things?

It’s a difficult question that Emily Blunt’s character clearly struggles against, but in the face of the cruelty and evil of this world do we just want it managed?

Incredible film from an incredible film maker and staff.
