What are some better movies about time travel, including relatively unknown ones?

In your opinion. Interested in more of sci-fi, than comedies like Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventures, Back To The Future or Hot Tub Time Machine.

Being a big fan of the Time Machine novel, I was completely downed by the recent adaptation (with Guy Pierce), where everybody seem to understand English in the year 800,000.

If you could provide a brief summary, that would be much appreciated as well.
