The T-Rex reveal is the one moment in Jurassic Park that still always gives me shivers

The first dinosaurs we see in Jurassic Park are the Brachiosaurus, who moreso than the fact that they are dinosaurs, it's their sheer size that creates this sense of awe, as we technically see Ellie looking over a piece of extinct flora only to drop it in view of this massive creature.

But the T-Rex moment goes one step further, and not simply because of the sense of danger this creature carries but in the reaction of the characters. The way the children reacted I believe is how any layman would have reacted.

But in that moment, Dr. Alan Grant, a palentologist who has only ever studied these creatures fossilized remains, in his attempt to save the children he applies the scientific knowledge he has spent his whole life studying. It's all theory, with no guarentee that it won't immediately end in disaster.

But a story is what makes a hero.
