Do you put movies on as "background noise"?

I often hear about people who would put a movie, while doing some other stuff (cooking, cleaning, studying etc).

The idea being that it creates some type of atmosphere in the home - as opposed to the house being dead quiet.

Personally, I do not like this idea at all.

I have this compulsion to sit down and watch a movie if one is playing.

What are your thoughts?
