The “comedy” at the Oscars was disgusting.

Am I the only one who thought the comedy at the Oscars was absolutely disgusting?

Besides the slap, I am really disgusted at the way the hosts treated certain actors during the show.

Calling up young actors like Timothee Chalamet and Simu Liu and making sexual remarks towards them on stage in front of a global audience? Really!? I’m sure that the actors agreed to the skit beforehand, but come on, the Oscars is an intimidating name to say no to.

Even with Josh Brolin and Jason Momoa. I was shocked that Regina Hall groped them before they gave their presentation. I’m sure that if given a choice, the actors would rather not be felt up before giving their respective speeches. They are both married/have partners.

Imagine if an older man made the same remarks about a young actress, saying things like “I’d smash.” Or if they felt up a woman before they gave their speech. The Oscars would be canceled and shut down before the next award. No one would be laughing.

We need to hold the Oscars accountable for the message that they are sending out into the world. Many people do not know that these are skits and think that this is an acceptable way to behave as it is what they see their celebrity role models doing on TV.

Do better.
