Best Acting From An Animal

I just finished watching season one of True Detective. In the season finale, we see the killers' house and he has a dog. The dog seems to be really loving, the man yells for the dog to get out, the dog goes out the dog door and sticks his face back in as to say "Ok, I know you're crazy, do you really want me out or are you just having a moment?". I just thought the dogs acting added so much to the scene and atmosphere. This dog seems to have gone through this so many times that it could actually be living in this scenario. Can anyone else think of a scene where an animal just absolutely makes the film world real?
