In The Big Short, were the examples of how people borrowed money dramatised or accurate?

I've watched The Big Short twice, first time a few years ago and again yesterday. Between the two I'd bought my first house and as a result learned as much as I could about mortgages, so seeing this film the second time was even more shocking.

I'm curious though if the examples they use of people borrowing multiple loans against the same property were dramatised or actually accurate? One example that stuck with me was the stripper who owned a few properties and had multiple loans on each.
