Films you still wanted to watch after being advised not to

There can be any number of ways in which you were advised not to. Maybe indirectly because it was relentlessly panned by everyone (audiences and critics alike), maybe because it was considered really disturbing or something, maybe because people you knew just didn't think you'd like it even if they did, are there any films you still wanted to watch even in these situations? and if you did watch them, what did you think? was it worth seeing or did you feel like it was better left unseen?
