John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness (1987) only gets better with age
Out of the entire Carpenter filmography, I've found his overlooked gem Prince of Darkness to be the one which has improved the most since it's release. Halloween, The Thing, Escape from NY and Big Trouble in Little China are now all certified classic. PoD in my opinion received a lot of flak when it came out, but I feel it has aged superbly.
For a low budget production, it looks hella polished. It's got a phenomenal score (one of my fav Carpenter score), characters act appropriately, they're quite are restrained in their personalities and the script offers some surprising turns.
If you don't remember this film, revisit it. Those of you who've been sitting on this one, do give it a try. It's far more better than most modern films of it's genre.
