With the release of Demon Slayer: Mugen Train in the US it is now technically the highest grossing R-rated animated film of all time. Ahead of Sausage Party and South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut

Though to be fair looking at the competition you'd think there's been about 15 R-rated animated movies given a theatrical run in the US. Which probably isn't too far off.

Its surprising considering that the film was only given a PG-13 rating equivalent in most other countries
