Quick, spoiler-free thoughts about Captain America: Civil War

Saw a prescreening last night in LA.

From someone who went in slightly skeptical: It's excellent. It's the perfect spectacle/popcorn movie, but with serious emotional resonance. The action set-pieces are wonderful and everything is game for destruction, the dialogue is snappy without being roll-your-eyes witty, and each and every character has their chance to shine.

Spiderman steals a good chunk of an hour, and Holland nails his character. Black Panther has so much gravitas throughout the entire film.

Most of all, I was impressed with how effortlessly the film introduced and juggled multiple characters, making each one seem powerful, yet flawed at the same time. I walked away feeling like I had just seen a full-blown Avengers movie.

I think you guys/gals are really going to like this movie.
