Hello, Reddit. We are Karyn Kusama and Phil Hay and we made the psychological suspense thriller THE INVITATION.

THE INVITATION follows the tense and potentially sinister interactions of a group of old friends, exes, and curious guests, gathered for a dinner party in the Hollywood Hills. It’s got Michiel Huisman (Daario!), Logan Marshall-Green (Trey Atwood!), and a cast of incredibly talented actors.

I (Karyn) directed the film, my fourth (after GIRLFIGHT, AEON FLUX, and JENNIFER’S BODY). I (Phil) co-wrote and produced THE INVITATION with my writing partner Matt Manfredi. THE INVITATION is our return to indie filmmaking after writing such films as RIDE ALONG (1&2), CLASH OF THE TITANS, and R.I.P.D. Our first film was CRAZY/BEAUTIFUL, and we also wrote AEON FLUX, directed by Karyn.

Oh, also, we (Karyn and Phil) are married.
