Can we take a moment to appreciate Alfred Molina's fantastic portrayal of Doc Ock in Spider-Man 2?

We often complain that most superhero movies suffer from the lack of a great villain. One of the exceptions is Alfred Molina's Doc Ock. For starters, Doc Ock isn't really a comic-book villain who is brimming with character depth, but it is all fixed in this film. While we do have to give credit to Sam Raimi, Molina gave such a layered performance filled with emotion that he honestly deserved an Oscar nomination. He even made the cliched and tiresome "NOOOOOOOO" moment tolerable, if not great. From beginning to end, we see a sympathetic but a ruthless villain, and every aspect of him is performed perfectly.

What are your thoughts on his performance and the character overall?
