If you enjoyed The Matrix, you should check out Dark City

I was recommended this movie by a friend and boy did it surprise me. It's very apparent how much the Wachowskis borrowed from this movie for The Matrix. It almost felt like a rough draft for The Matrix in a way but not in a bad way. It's dark and dirty and the city kind of reminded me of Gotham from the 1989 Batman. I would definitely recommend checking it out if you haven't seen it.
