Jaws ($260 million domestic box office, 97% RT) made more, and had a higher Rotten Tomatoes score, than Jaws 2, 3-D, and IV combined ($148 million, 63%).

Seems like the box office was pretty clearly linked to each film's quality. Whoda thunk it?

Also, that sequel nomenclature is horrific. Either 2, 3, and 4, or II, III, and IV. Not sure what they were thinking with this potpourri numbering scheme.
