Re-watching The Matrix, I think one of the reasons the sequels were so underwhelming is because of how underwhelming Neo being "The One" was

In the first movie, Morpheus describes The One as more or less a God within the matrix. He could "reshape the Matrix as he saw fit".

But what did we get when we see him as The One in the later movies? He does the exact same stuff the other characters are capable of doing, just slightly more extreme.

Rather than being a God within the Matrix, he was just stronger and faster than most other people/programs. And he could fly, and apparently has some kind of telekinesis that he used about 3-4 times (stopping bullets + when he made the daggers fly off the wall into his hands).

Compared to what Morpheus was describing in the first movie, it's a pretty big letdown.

I'm probably not the first person to have this idea, and there are numerous other problems with the sequels, I was just re-watching and thought I would share my thoughts
