What movie would you say is better than the book?

For example "Children of Men". The novel (The Children of Men by PD James) takes a vastly different tone (as well as a plot that almost seems contrived by the end). Not only is Cuaron's film more sensical, but the true desperation of the human race seems better communicated via Cuaron's masterful cinematography and set design than through James' at-length sociological discussions.
