Why do so many people put logic over emotion?

I don't really know how to explain but I will try. Nowadays it seems that more and more directors are trying to make films that make "logical sense." And so many critics are wanting films that are logical. The best example I can think of is how so many people want movies to be more "realistic." Putting logic over emotion. I personally think a film that makes no logical sense but is emotionally powerful is so much better then a film that is the other way around. Has anyone else felt this at all and could maybe put it into better words?

Edit: people have been asking for examples so here we go. My favorite film is Speed Racer. It does not even try to work on a real world logical level and instead on it's own cartoonish emotional level.

Compare that to a film we can all agree was disappointing, The Dark Knight Rises. It tried so hard to put its comic book scenario into the real world that we have no way of getting emotionally invested. No emotional investment caused it to fail.
