Reactions to "Blade Runner 2049" Press Screening (No Spoilers)

The studio embargo lifted this morning, so I wanted to share some spoiler free thoughts. I was lucky enough to see a press screening of "Blade Runner 2049" a week ago. In my opinion, it is unequivocally, the best sequel we could have imagined. A triumph. Denis Villeneuve is a genius.

The entire plot is a spoiler. I highly advise you to avoiding reading ALL reviews of it. See a headline or a post? Don't click it! Don't deprive yourself of the experience. It goes in many unexpected places, but plays like they planned it this way for 30 years.

Don't expect post-2K hyper edits. Long, artistic shots giving the actors the actual chance to act are front and center. Stunning visuals with an excellent balance of cg and in lens. The amount of practical sets is fantastic. There is CGI but it's done in a way to accentuate the real not replace it. Simply incredible filmmaking.
