A Quiet Place is going to be awful to watch in theatres

I'm really looking forward to seeing A Quiet Place - it's an excellent concept, the trailers look fantastic, and the reactions out of SXSW and early reviews have cemented this as a must-see and probably one of the best horrors in recent times.

And yet...I can't help thinking that it's going to be a terrible viewing experience in movie theatres. There are going to be loads of scenes with absolutely minimal sound. No doubt it will result in great tension and atmosphere, but can you imagine how infuriating it'll be to be watching a movie that completely revolves around the use of silence as a way to build tension, with a crowd of popcorn rustlers and snack unwrappers? Unless you go to a 9am screening where there's two other people in the audience, it's going to be unavoidable, and it's going to completely spoil the movie.

People who make noise in the theatre get on my nerves even in a bombastic loud blockbuster - in a movie where silence is this important, it's going to be hell. As much as I want to see the movie, I think I'll wait for the Blu-ray in this case.

TLDR: A Quiet Place will need to be watched in A Quiet Place and a crowded movie theatre ain't that.
