Sequels better than the original?

What are in your opinion sequels in movie franchises that actually were better than the original outing? I wouldn‘t count the movies of The James Bond franchise as sequels, since as they change different actors portraying Bond, in different timelines, and this for nearly 60 years. But if so, Casino Royale is (imo) the best James Bond movie.
