Fake reviews on IMDB are getting out of hand. What's the point any more?

I went to read about The Darkest Minds on IMDB. I found a bunch of suspicious 10* reviews, all from people who signed up four days ago, their one and only review, with similar structured names. Like:

allisoncollins-48027

gabby-47953

nicolate-62111

ashleycullen-76044

Also ones like jengood-30036 who write "Got an ovation from the entire theater audience at the end." (The film is 5.5. rated, and the less suspicious, more long-standing reviewers rip it to pieces).

Is this something that PR companies now do for most films?
