What would you consider a modern "classic" that isnt based off of anything?
It seems that the trend that a lot of movies are following are ones made with a source material. Movies that are based on books, comics, some are reimaginings, or even sequels/prequels to well known franchises (i.e. Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Alien, Ect.) Don't get me wrong these movies can be fantastic, like the Planet of the Apes Trilogy with Andy Serkis. It just seems that there is an over abundance of these types of movies, and it's just a sense that there is a lack of originality. So what I am asking is that what movie(s) in your mind can be considered an original classic in say 25 years?
