"Arrival" might be the best sci-fi movie i have ever seen

My favorite sci-fi movie was : Star-Wars: Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, i believed it had the best setting, depiction of extraterrestrial life, most compelling story of all SW movies, and finally, the best plot twist in the history of cinema, until yesterday, my sister and i decided to boot up netflix, make popcorn, watch on a 48-inch tv (yeah it's the best you can get in morocco),we started browsing, then i saw a compelling poster containing amy adams, jeremy renner (two actors i highly respect) and a black curved frisbee or blood cell. I looked it up on metacritic and i saw the "Must-Watch" sticker, then we watched it. -It Was Terrific,(Now we are getting in spoiler territory, go watch the movie now before going further)

my weak point in movies is when there is a worldwide emergency and people are running away in the streets, shoplifting to get survival goods, rushing vehicles crashing into each other, one movie simply has to have a scene of this to captivate me or having a full biography of someone from their birth to their death which i find is an IRL overpowered strategy of making me cry,and the movie has both of these, but in a mild yet effective way, people aren't exactly running away in the streets, or running over each other in cars, but scheduled sessions such as schools or football matches are seen to be canceled and it is just as effective as the latter. And the biography too is mildly presented, but instead of knowing louise banks' whole life, we are aware that she knows it from start to finish and yet she still embraces it, this is peak storytelling, This movie has no comedy whatsoever because it doesn't need it and it is aware than a misplaced joke is funny but the feeling of laughter overwhelms the intended feeling and erases it completely (take notes marvel studios). Verdict 10/10 not enough heptapods
