It's a shame 'I Am Legend' didn't use practical effect vampires

Could have been an all time action horror classic. Phenomenal job of building the world/tension in the opening act, only to have all of it fizzle out as soon as you see the CGI vampires.

Compare it to something like 30 Days of Night, which came out the same year. Incredibly well done practical makeup for those vampires which will hold up forever.

If only.
