Kubrick's Barry Lyndon (1975) is one of my favorite films.

Clockwork Orange, 2001, Full Metal Jacket, The Shining get the recognition they deserve but Barry Lyndon doesn't seem to get noticed as much. I admit Ryan O'Neal does a terrible Irish accent but the cinematography, eye for detail, and technical achievement (the scenes literally lit only by candle light?!) make this my favorite Kubrick film. And one of my favorite go-to films that I can watch over and over. I often pair watching Barry Lyndon with a viewing of Ridley Scott's The Duellists (1977)
